speaking in riddles.

Last night, I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time,

or maybe it was just an intense nightmare that I fell back into every time I “woke up.”

I decided to sleep at 3:57 AM and not too long after, my body feels numb and my eyes are wide open. I was staring at my fire alarm and I could see a white outline of something (not my fire alarm), but that part wasn’t too bad.

I’ve heard of people who’ve had hallucinations of black, ominous figures in their rooms during sleep paralysis. The scary part was when I was trying to move my legs and something heavy was lying on my body underneath my blankets. I chose not to look at it because my mind probably would’ve conjured some demon face and you know in movies when you feel something crawling on you and you want to find out what it is, it’s almost always never good. Haha. -_- I know the things that happen in (scary) movies aren’t real, but still, I couldn’t not think about it. Instead of looking at it, I opened my mouth to scream, but I couldn’t.

This whole process lasted for forty minutes before I seriously woke up.

Naturally, I was too scared to go back to sleep and I had to pee, but there was no way I was getting up to go to the bathroom even if I could turn on every light on my path to the bathroom. I think I can say with doing that, some people, myself included, feel like running back to their room after turning off each light because of what could be lurking in the darkness. Hahaha, I’m such a wuss. -_-

Thank goodness for webcams and best friends who’ll keep you company. I actually don’t know if I would’ve texted this person, or anyone, had I not known he’d still be awake because I wouldn’t really like waking people up if they were sleeping even if they say you can call or text them ANYTIME—especially if it’s just because you had a bad dream, maybe. After all, it was very late/early. Anyway, I think I calmed down enough that I successfully went back to sleep around 5:30. Yay.
